I'm NOT at BlogHer

I'm not at BlogHer this weekend. They say there's only 1,500 people there, but wow, it seems like so many more when you're sitting at home behind your computer screen watching the blog posts and tweets go by! I feel like the kid that's grounded on a Friday night when all their friends are at the biggest party of the year. You know, the one where the popular couple breaks up and the bully finally gets what's coming to him. The one party that come Monday morning you'll hear a million times over, "I can't believe you missed it!"

So to help ease the envy I'm feeling (for both the opportunity to meet all these amazing bloggers and the opportunity to get the heck out of town for a weekend) I'm participating in a great at-home blog party hosted by Robin at Pensieve and Jo-Lynne at Musings of a Housewife. So all my regular readers (all 5 of you!) will probably already know all this but for those of you joining me in the Blog Hop '09, here's a little about me!

Blog Hop '09

I'm Tina. I'm the wifey to N, and a work at home momma to T (9 going on 30 and the lone girl of the bunch), P (4.5 and the classic middle child) and E (3, the baby and the one that will drive me to an early grave.) We live in North Carolina in one of those towns that you'll miss if you blink about 45 mins southwest of Raleigh.

I started blogging about 2 years ago sporadically when I lost my job and became a full-time stay at home mom. (Anyone who's been there knows what a shock to the system that can be!) In the past year or so, I've gotten more and more addicted to my little space on the internet and have branched out to designing blogs (I was in advertising and graphic design in my former life) and a bit of sporadic sewing. While I don't have a huge following, I'm so grateful for my readers that come to laugh and cry along with me on each post.

I love to meet new bloggy friends (my Google reader can surely handle a few more blogs!) and can't wait to "meet" all of you on the Blog Hop!

Nice to meet you! I worked outside the home too, then became a SAHM. It is a big shock! Blogging saved my sanity.

"Blog Hoppin" over to say hello! Totally relate on the somewhat overly educated SAHM routine - I have a masters degree in horticulture (plants) and genetics! comes in handy with daily diaper changing, meal preparation, and grocery list writing... LOL... love your WW self portrait! hope to see more of you! :)

Howdy! It is amazing how addictive blogging can be, isn't it? I used to mock bloggers then I became one and kept it quiet - now I love my little corner of the internet and the friends I make! It is a great support/outlet when I am at home for days on end with my 2 little ones.

You're right. Going from full-time employed to full-time unpaid mom is a shocker! I did that for a number of years and only recently have started working P/T (while kiddos are in school). I had to learn how to have adult conversations again!

Hey there! Thx for stopping by for BlogHop. Love your response to BlogHer...didn't know it was only 1500 women because you're right it seemed like so many more with all the tweets. Was hard to keep up. Can you imagine life before twitter though? We would have missed it all!

Luv that you're a designer too. What's your favorite program?

Oh, I'm sorry I missed this. All the Blogher talk is making me depressed to have missed out on it, even with all the controversy. I guess I should start saving my pennies for NYC 2010.

Thanks for coming by my little place! Yours is great, and I have to say I know what you mean about going from working to staying at home! Some days I really miss it, but it's worth it of course!
