These are a few of my favorite things...

Thursdays are blah days for me. For most people it's Monday, but for some reason Thursdays have always been that day that I dread. It's not quite Friday, there's nothing good on TV, and I can never seem to think of anything to blog about on Thursdays. So, I'm going to start a new 'feature' if you will, on Thursdays where I show you a few of my favorite things.

Not that many of you care what my favorite things are. But if nothing else, maybe it will provide some shopping inspiration for my hubby since he constantly claims I'm so hard to shop for. (Really? Give me a gift certificate for a pedicure plus a hour away from the kids to get said pedicure and I'm one happy gal!)

So without further ado, here's the first installment of My Favorite Things Thursday!

Chevy Chase by Syracuse china

china

Why do I love this pattern so much? I can't explain it. It's a simple white plate with a platinum edge. There's nothing fancy about it, and I think it's the simplicity that I love. I have just a few pieces of this that I've picked up at rummage sales and thrift stores. Sure, I could get the entire set from Replacements, Ltd. but that takes the thrill of the hunt out of it!

Hatfield Pottery

Isn't that just gorgeous? It's by Hatfield Pottery in Seagrove, NC (the pottery mecca of NC) and while there are many, many pottery artists in North Carolina (in fact there are several almost literally in my backyard!) I've yet to see anything produced by Morgan Hatfield that I haven't immediately fallen in love with.

Primitive Art / Artifacts

I've got a thing about antique stores. Especially those old antique stores where you have to sift through a pile of stuff to find the treasures. And restored antiques? Forget about it. I want them raw, worn and aged. The box pictured above is from Prairie Antiques' Etsy store and I'm drooling over it. (Hint, hint dear husband of mine. My birthday is less than a month away!)
