I hate laundry.

and I'm beginning to think the feeling in mutual. It's been a crazy few weeks in the Party of 5 laundry room and I'm about ready to just throw in the towel (pun not intended) and give up on ever doing laundry again.

It all started 2 weeks ago. I was doing laundry. Had been doing laundry all day. (I still can not get over how much laundry 5 people can make in just one short week.) I threw the last load for the night into the dryer and sat down at the computer for a little game of Free Cell before heading to bed. (Thank goodness I didn't go to bed right away!) I started smelling something. Something electrical. Something electrical burning. I went in the laundry room and bingo, the source of the smell. I pulled the dryer out from the wall and notice the black box (which obviously isn't as indestructible as the ones on airplanes) that the dryer plugs into was completely melted on one side. Yeah, it's not suppose to do that. Still not sure why or how it happened, (our guess is that the box got hit at one point and some wires inside broke and/or shifted) but the hubby was able to rewire a new box and we haven't had any other problems with the dryer.

So fast forward to yesterday. I keep all my cleaning supplies in the cabinet above my washer and dryer. Seems like a safe place to keep them, unless of course you drop a full 64 ounce bottle of Pine Sol behind the washing machine. When this happens, it will inevitably knock the drain hose loose from the dryer and you won't notice until you're washing a super size load of laundry when all the water drains onto your floor. Let's just say my laundry room floor is cleaner now than it's been since I moved in.

Now I won't go so far as to say that I hate my washing machine and dryer. Because let's face it, they sure as heck beat the alternative:
But I will say that I've just about had it with laundry in general. I've warned my husband that the way things are going I'll burn the house down or flood it completely if I continue to do the laundry. He just laughed and told me I wasn't getting out of doing laundry that easy. Sigh.

I'm laughing because it's one of those funny things that's funny unless it's happening to you! I have one of those old washboards - decoration of course.
Between me, hubby and 2 kids, I do eight loads of laundry a week. Huh?

Oh girl I have had those days too. I don't mind laundry...but I hate it when it piles up. When my washer was broke for those few days i thought I would never dig out of the mounds of laundry.
